Step 1: Accessing Settings

Open a New Tab

  1. Press Ctrl+T (Windows) or Cmd+T (Mac) to open a new tab
  2. You'll see your new Chromentum dashboard
  3. Look for the settings icon (⚙️) - usually in the top-right corner
  4. Click the settings icon to open the configuration panel

Can't see the settings icon? Make sure the extension is properly installed and enabled inchrome://extensions/

Step 2: Set Your Name

Why Set Your Name?

  • Get personalized greetings like "Good morning, Alex!"
  • Makes your new tab feel more welcoming
  • Greetings change based on time of day

Privacy Note: Your name is stored locally in your browser only. It's never sent to servers or shared with anyone.

How to Set Your Name:

  1. Open settings (⚙️ icon)
  2. Look for "Name" or "Personal Information" section
  3. Enter your preferred name (first name works best)
  4. Click "Save" or the setting will auto-save
  5. Refresh the page to see your personalized greeting

Example: Enter "Sarah" to see "Good evening, Sarah!" in the evenings

Step 3: Configure Weather Location

Weather Display Options

Automatic Location

  • • Uses your browser's location services
  • • Most accurate for your current area
  • • Requires location permission
  • • Updates if you travel

Manual Location

  • • Set a specific city or location
  • • No location permissions needed
  • • Perfect for privacy-conscious users
  • • Choose any city worldwide

To Set Manual Location:

  1. Open settings and find "Weather" or "Location" section
  2. Look for "Manual Location Override" or similar option
  3. Enter your city name (e.g., "New York", "London", "Tokyo")
  4. Save settings and refresh the page
  5. Weather should update to show your chosen location
