By installing, accessing, or using the Chromentum Chrome extension ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.
These Terms apply to all users of Chromentum, including both free and premium subscribers.
2. Description of Service
Chromentum is a Chrome browser extension that transforms your new tab page with productivity features, including:
Free Features
- Dynamic background images
- Weather display
- World clocks (up to 2)
- Notes and tasks
- Calendar widget
- Flow Mode (1 hour daily)
Premium Features
- Unlimited world clocks
- 58+ premium image themes
- Custom image search
- Unlimited Flow Mode
- Premium soundscapes
- Advanced audio controls
3. Premium Subscription
Pricing and Billing
- Founding Member Pricing: €2.99/month (first 3,000 subscribers only)
- Regular Pricing: €4.99/month (after founding member limit)
- Annual Option: €49.99/year (equivalent to €4.17/month)
- Free Trial: 7 days full premium access
Billing Terms
- Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance
- Payment processing handled securely by Stripe
- Founding member pricing locked forever for eligible users
- Free trial requires valid payment method but no charge until trial ends
- Automatic renewal unless cancelled before next billing cycle
4. Free Trial Policy
- Duration: 7 days from activation
- Access: Full premium features during trial period
- Payment Method: Valid payment method required but not charged during trial
- Cancellation: Cancel anytime during trial with no charge
- Auto-Conversion: Automatically converts to paid subscription after trial
- Eligibility: One free trial per user/payment method
5. Cancellation and Refunds
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through:
- Chromentum settings panel within the extension
- Email request to support@chromentum.com
- Stripe customer portal (if available)
Refund Policy
- 7-day free trial allows risk-free evaluation
- Refunds considered case-by-case within 30 days of purchase
- Technical issues will be resolved before refund consideration
- Founding member pricing non-transferable and non-refundable after 30 days
6. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
- Use the service for illegal or unauthorized purposes
- Share premium account credentials with others
- Attempt to circumvent payment or subscription systems
- Use automated tools to interact with the service
- Interfere with other users' enjoyment of the service
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
7. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Our data practices are governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms. Key points:
- We collect minimal data necessary for service functionality
- We never sell, rent, or share your personal information
- Location data (for weather) is optional and not stored
- User preferences stored locally when possible
- Premium account data secured with industry standards
8. Limitation of Liability
Service Provided "As Is":
- Chromentum is provided "as is" without warranties
- We strive for 99.9% uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service
- External services (weather, images) may occasionally be unavailable
- Total liability limited to amount paid for subscription in past 12 months
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
9. Modifications to Service and Terms
Service Updates
We regularly improve Chromentum with new features and updates. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice to users.
Terms Updates
These Terms may be updated periodically. Significant changes will be communicated through the extension or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
